Freud Whiskey Distillers Decade: This whisky matured for the first twelve months in barrels made from local Spessart oak and German chestnut. Then it acquired its character! It spent a further nine years in fine bourbon barrels with the traditional "alligator character". The climate around the Ziegler barrel warehouse, directly on the banks of the Main, gives the whisky its powerful expression. The single malt gets its characteristic Freud whisky aroma from being rounded off in Ziegler Alte Zwetschge barrels. More information here

Our first whisky, the Freud ”Distillers Cut” matures in chestnut and ex-bourbon barrelbefore it is rounded off in the characteristic Ziegler Alte Zwetschge cask.
